Illinois Partners for Human Service Statewide Call-In Meeting June 12th "Partnering to Improve Health Equity"

As you know, the legislative session ended on May 31st with our elected officials going home without a fully-funded budget. This unprecedented inaction has left our state with another downgraded bond rating. Please continue your outreach efforts, emphasizing the impact this has had on your organization.
The House has scheduled a hearing on June 8th at 10:30 am to discuss human services appropriations - specifically providers and the state budget. The hearing is scheduled at the Michael A. Bilandic Building (160 N. LaSalle) in room C-600. Any updated information for this hearing can be found here.

Our next call-in meeting

Today, more than ever, we are in need of data to guide our work throughout the community - oftentimes, we need data to make decisions and respond to funding opportunities.

As an opportunity to provide your work with more resources, we are excited to announce a state-wide webinar with the Chicago Department of Public Health:

  "Partnering to Improve Health Equity"

The presentation will include a demonstration from their new database, the Chicago Health Atlas, on where to find city and community level data for strategic planning, grant proposals, and community capacity building efforts. Additionally they will discuss ways for Human Service organizations to be involved in the movement to advance health equity across our state in their effort to expand access to health and human services.

This webinar includes initiatives of Healthy Chicago 2.0 and its reach extends to all corners of the state. We encourage members from outside Chicago to join, so that you may consider how the efforts of Healthy Chicago 2.0 may apply to your community and for ways you can become involved.
